White Would Be Fun

My taupe suede Birks get a lot of wear and I definitely need a new pair. White could be chic. I’ve seen them on a couple of women, and a reader raved, so I’m going to pull the trigger. Certainly less pricey than many designer versions. I may need black too…

  • I also have a pair of taupe suede ones that need to be replaced. Something about the stark whiteness of these that makes me think of nurse’s shoes (crazy, I know). Going to just order another pair in taupe. Preston, do you have any of the other styles of Birks?

  • I just got a pair of white Arizonas too. Such a current look!

  • I wear tan Arizona and silver Madrid ones all summer. Want a pair of black ones. Love white ones on others but not sure i can pull them off. Would love to hear your reviews on white ones.
On a different topic, what spring/summer bag(s) are you toting around? Craving something new but not too trendy.

  • Yes, pull that trigger! The white jagged sole makes all the difference.

    SamanthaApril 23rd, 2014  9:24 AM

  • All I can think of is how dirty they will get. I’ll just get taupe so I’m not constantly cleaning….

  • Kim, in my past life I was a nurse so I am with you…couldn’t do it! I am not sure why the NAP price is so high. Check out these JCrew styles which includes white leather for less.
I opted for the nude patent that I love although haven’t worn yet. I just replace my 25 year old taupe suedes and also got black leather. I had forgotten how comfortable these can be and depending on how they are paired can be so fashion forward.

  • I am looking for a comfortable, supportive, all day walk around sandal and have not been able to commit to birks.. will they answer my wishes in those areas??

  • The white looks clean and sharp!

  • They’re brilliant! Love them!

  • I found a pair of black hunter arizona (the buckles are black, too) at Nordstrom Rack on discount and have been rocking them. My sister thinks they are frumpy, but I pair them with skinny jeans and white tank and a blazer and it’s quite the opposit.

  • I bought these a few weeks ago and love them! Also they are available in a narrow width which is perfect.

  • I have the one-strap white in patent leather – very comfy and chic

    birksApril 23rd, 2014  1:05 PM

  • I love the white Birks with an all white outfit- white jeans or shorts and a summery top or a white dress. They’d also be cute with grey denim.

    Sara G.April 23rd, 2014  2:24 PM

  • hmnnn. they do look nice. and while they are less expensive than celine marant et al, at $220 they are still much more than virtually the exact same thing sold via zappos for $89 (but with a grey buckle).

    allison wApril 23rd, 2014  2:33 PM

  • Love these Preston!

I bought a pair in silver- kind of dark metallic and they are FAB!

Now I might need to buy the white ones too….

    Mme DirectriceApril 23rd, 2014  5:04 PM

  • I have black and I wear them all the time – I may need white too!

    That's Not My AgeApril 23rd, 2014  5:36 PM

  • you’ll love the white! i wore mine to death and bought red patent last year!

    NicoleApril 23rd, 2014  7:15 PM

  • Got them. Love them. They are dirty already! White is a hard color to keep clean. The price is right though to wear to death and replace

    PaulaApril 23rd, 2014  7:19 PM

  • I love them and have worn Birkenstocks for years – in and out of style, so thrilled that they’re in right now.
Arizona’s are the classics, but I also love the Gizeh for a “sexier” look ( if Birkenstocks can be sexy?)

    KathyApril 23rd, 2014  7:27 PM

  • I’m a serious Birk lover for years now. These white ones are very cool but, what would stop me from getting them, is the white rubber bottom. It gets dingy and dirty fast. Not a good look. I prefer the black bottom with white Birks.

    MariaApril 23rd, 2014  8:17 PM

  • I found a new style of Birks this Spring–a strappy slip on style in a ‘soft metallic black.’ Also available in a metallic coppery brown. Loving them!

    PaulaApril 24th, 2014  1:20 AM

  • I am interested in buying a pair in white Birko-Flor…for those of you that have them: do they get dirty quickly? Are they easy to clean?

    LizSeptember 5th, 2015  8:50 AM

  • I am thinking of buying the taupe suede Arizonas but am worried they will get dirty easily. Has anyone else found this with their suede taupe arizonas?
