Denim Days

How do you dress when it’s 55° in the morning and 75° in the afternoon? I’m not always a denim jacket fan, but right now, especially over a St. James Breton striped tee, it’s the perfect transition piece.

  • You are spot on, Preston! I already have had my jean jacket and fav scarves wrapped around my neck to go through the crazy temp changes back up north! Hugs

  • It is the perfect topper and looks great on Alt but personally, I’ve never been ever to pull it off.

  • Love it. I wore denim shirt over a t-shirt and white jeans yesterday.

  • Love it especially with all-black.

  • I’m over it but then I am over a certain age…been around one time too many, looks too unfinished……

  • It’s definitely my go-to piece during transitional seasons – perfect with all black, over a sundress, a skirt and tee- fabulous!

  • I’ve always had about 3 different denim jackets in my closet since I was in my 20’s. Different washes, slightly different sizing, etc. I don’t even mind them with blue denim, as long as the shirt hem goes below the jacket.

  • I wanted to add that I have one that I’ve cut the sleeves off to just above my elbows that I roll up a little to wear over sundresses when I don’t want to show my upper arms, which is all of the time now. It looks a bit hipper than a cardigan.

  • I finally dragged my out after having been in the closet for a couple years unworn. I’m rolling the sleeves, and usually like to wear it with a skirt/dress to ‘level the field’ (make something dressy not so dressy).
Of course, Alt pulls it off with ease! I love her sleeves peeking out.

  • Exactly my problem, and I’m finding my Barbour coast is far to heavy by lunchtime. I’ve always felt it was such a young look (it brings me back to my Esprit one from Jr. High) but maybe it’s time to revisit. Laura from http://www.cocktailsandgelato.com

  • I have never owned a denim/jeans jacket. For a light and easy to pack jacket which works over pants or a dress, I always choose a puffy/quilted jacket. There are many great colors and shapes available now. My favorites are an indigo blue, trim, 3-button + zipper blazer by Herno and a delightful orange fitted quilted jacket by Gimo. Both Italian, both great casual pieces with polish.
