I Recant Cont.

First the Breton striped tee, now the wedge. Not a fan the past few years, the wedge is back on my radar. Chic, yet comfortable and practical. Especially a lower version like  these by Paloma Barceló.

  • I recanted a few weeks ago, after buying a stacked heel sandal by Givenchy, which is fine for going out to dinner, but not for all day. Since there are times I do want some height, and leg lengthening, I bought two pairs of summer wedges and have been wearing them often. They really are a lot more comfortable than heels.

  • I agree. I especially love the white ones on your sidebar. The clean line aesthetic looks so modern and fresh this summer.

  • Like the pair above, but lately I have been casually searching for a more dressy pair for an outdoor, lakeside wedding with no luck. Now the wedding is 2weeks away and I’m getting worried……they can’t be too high (my husband doesn’t care if I’m taller, it’s my hangup).
My point being is I think there’s always a time for a wedge, although I’m with you Preston and haven’t thought of them for a while.

  • I love the cream pair in your shop…just bought them. Not sure how this brand fits, but I’ll give them a try. The mule silhouette looks good on an espadrille base and the cream is really fresh.

  • Love the bit of height these will give you. Most wedges are sky high and completely not practical for summer errands and poolside so I’ve avoided them altogether. But these are just perfect.

  • Just tried on the Celine wedge espadrilles today and they were pretty great. Have you tried them? The advantage of the ones you’ve mentioned is they are half the price and espadrilles don’t hold up very well.
