Circling Back

A Fair Isle sweater, loafers, and a new bag topped my fall list. After trying a few sweaters, I found this one by J. Brand (here too) and it’s perfect, and I think these Manolo Blahnik loafers are great, just deciding between black and brown. A bag has been my bugaboo. I really wanted it to be structured, but when it’s structured, it doesn’t hold enough. Instead, I bought a large Céline hobo in off-white. It’s the perfect shape and size, but I haven’t taken it out of the dust bag because I know it’s going to get dirty, and I have to reconcile if I’m okay with that. TBC.

  • Have you seen the Givenchy Obsedia Hobo? Tried one in Barneys on Saturday. Hobo shape with good structure. They had in a couple different sizes, though not sure about colors.

  • exchange it for another color, once white gets dirty it looks like garbage.

  • Take it out! I did the same thing. It’s my favorite bag. I love it and it holds up better then you think.

  • I’ve been circling that sweater too, but worried that it’ll never get cold enough in LA for me to wear it.
I’d get the loafers in both colors, hard to find the perfect loafer and they truly are a timeless and elegant pair.

  • i have that bag in grey and i love it but i’m afraid to carry it! the leather scuffs easily and it’s not necessarily the kind of leather that looks better with age. the brown you featured looks amazing though.

  • Now that I have acepted that summer is virtually over I’m on the look-out for some new cosy but stylish sweaters. This Fair Isle one is lovely. So often the colours are too bright and I’m more of a neutral person!

  • You always find the best classic and timeless items ! The Céline hobo bag is very practical and chic, love the JBrand sweater, and those loafers don’t look like Blahnic at all, yet they are totally classic and cool !

  • I’m not a fan of hobo bags, but otherwise this outfit is perfect for fall casual.

  • I bought the Manolo loafers following your previous blog and LOVE them. Mine are brown, they go with everything, very comfortable ( I went up a half-size), and the brown seems fresh compared to black. I will have them for years. Have been eyeing off the sweater – it is a classic and is well priced. Love hobo bags, this color featured looks beautiful. Thanks for the post!

  • Knowing how ‘vigorous’ I am with my handbags, I buy any white-ish bag at lower price point.
