Mules’ Moment Cont.
Mules stormed back on to the fashion scene last year and were a popular spring shoe. Although the satin Altuzarra’s were gorgeous, I knew I wouldn’t wear them often enough. And honestly, I thought that would be that for this shoe trend. But then I spied these by Chloé and realized that this style may have staying power. Love the stacked heel and buckles– I almost bought the flat version this past summer, both are good.

I would really love to see how you’d wear them, as I don’t really like them. But given your taste, I’m sure they would look good styled in a very elegant way !

Nice but so 90s.
Mules in the past seem to have staying power. I am not the biggest fan of them, but I do like the current offerings that are more shoe like, with the back not flopping off at every step. I decided to buy a pair this summer and looked around for a not too expensive pair. Not much to be found in my neck of the woods, and even at online shoe sites they weren’t plentiful. So, I never got a pair. Made me wonder if the look hasn’t made its way down from high end lines to mainstream yet. I haven’t looked for Fall though. I actually prefer a closed toe mule, but I like the design and color of this one.
I would wear them with jeans and a long sweater, just like this http://keepitchic.com/2014/09/11/the-longer-the-better/
I like this look and think mules have been re-worked from the ’90’s silhouette. It is a great shoe for those of us in a warmer climate–open enough for comfort, but substantial enough for fall. An entry for the “west coast feed” some have asked for!
Sorry, mules are just too much work to keep on. Add to that the heel height , and it’s just not worth it. Maybe just to see and be seen in?
