It Item

Fall Tweak

Gucci I have all the coats I’ll need for the cold weather ahead, and I’ve bought far too many ribbed tops, but I’m still craving a little something—let’s call it a fall tweak. Not a staple or basic, I want an item that screams FW14. Hmmm…

  • Have been thinking of the same shoes and bag – love both, and would be great tweaks.

  • How funny, I have been thinking the same thing. So I bought the Etoile IM olive leopard print skirt and top, a MCQ cream ‘statement’ sweater and the brown knee high Gucci horsebit detailed boots.

  • Mine “screams FW14” purchase is a burgundy Chanel flap. It is very right this second (but hopefully I will love it well beyond the season . . .

  • They go together nicely. Just saying.

  • Love the shoes and the bag. Perfect tweak!

  • Mine (so far) are an Adam Lippes fair isle cardigan, great for LA, and a small rust suede Gucci disco bag, that will never see the inside of a disco.

  • Who makes these? Where can we purchase?

  • I vote for fringe bag and skirt..would love to know the designers too..

  • The Saint Laurent bag, Isabel Marant skirt, and Gucci loafers are all on the sidebar.

  • The leopard loafer gets my vote.

  • for you -i say do the loafers. the style is classic but the animal print will tweak any of your tonal outfits, in a casual way -and for years to come. a trend and a value. the mini, that’s a mood. the fringe, especially that fringe, that’s truly a trendy fleeting feeling…(although, kendall conrad has a great fringe right now i could see as a better match for you)…otherwise, i vote loafer.

  • I got the skirt recently, and I agree, this is the perfect Fall item ! I love it, and I am such a fan of those leopard loafers too, they are classic, very 60s but oh so modern and chic !

  • I too am surprised to see fringe for this long..

    SheilaOctober 18th, 2014  8:30 AM

  • And fringe is still huge for resort!

    PrestonOctober 18th, 2014  8:32 AM

  • I think the loafers are great to add a twist to an otherwise classic outfit. I have leopard booties that I wear often to do the same. As you know, I LOVE the bag…I have the black and wear it daily. The crossbody, size and fringe make it modern and convenient. Isn’t everything actually a “trend”? I feel as if Kate M and Emmanualle Alt and Isabelle Marant have been wearing fringe for years now. I think you either like fringe or you don’t.

  • My purchases that say Fall 14 are two outerwear pieces from Isabel Marant – a knee length sleeveless coat/vest in a shag-like wool and a brown/black/cream plaid poncho cape with fringe – can’t wait for the weather to cool down enough to wear over sweaters!

  • I felt the same way. I bought a Proenza Schouler bucket bag in leather and suede and have been using it every day. It just updated everything. Go for the bag!
