‘Incredible Boots’

Winter boots

I’ve had my eye on these ‘Incredible Boots’ by Penelope Chilvers for a while, but they were only available shipped from England. No longer, J. Crew has them and I bought both colors.  Paired with my Fair Isle sweaters, I’ll be working an Après Ski look as I do the school run this winter.

Available here too.

  • Such a good choice, Preston. I got a pair in grey felted wool last year and they are fantastic (and comfortable). As are all Penelope Chilvers boots. Very cheery for Winter.

  • Very classic, too. They will serve you well for many winters.

  • Perfect for snowy Chicago winters! How is the sizing? Ordering a pair asap, leaning towards the lighter ones.

  • LOVE – wondering the same about sizing – any helpful hints?

  • Julie, I am a 7.5 so I bought both a 7 and 8 in both colors. Will let you know.

  • I bought a pair of the lighter coloured ones a few weeks back and they fit true to size- really cosy with the shearling lining inside. Also versatile I have seen people wearing these right through to late spring. I am very tempted to go for the black also!!!!

  • These boots are fabulous, warm, and comfy. Erica Wilson on Nantucket has these and will ship!

  • Hmnnn, these are a bit too vernacular and preppy for me. Reminds me too much of being in middle school. I prefer the Diemme Roccia boot, the version in grey felt sold by James Perse. Sadly, they are not lined in shearling.

  • I love and kept both and will wear them forever. I’m a half size and went up. Will wear with heavy socks.

  • thanks, im leaning that way, my son threw a face though on the light color and doesn’t like,,,,,oh well!!
    they fit pretty true

  • I ordered them and I loved the idea of them, but with skinnies they make your feet look like Bigfoot. They look better with a bootcut jean but that hides most of the shoe so what’s the point? They looked cute with a leather skirt but I don’t need them for that. Back they go!

  • Just purchased the last pair of black ones on Love, Love Love them! Cozy, comfortable and good quality. Very good with black jeans. Thanks Preston!
