  • Preston, would you let the shirt tail fall below the sweater?

  • What a good looking boot! Perfect heel height. Goes with most everything. Best of all, the tootsies do not get tired. These Saint Laurent boots are definitely on my list.

  • Yes, the shirt is to be untucked.

  • Great uniform, love the bag and booties. Intrigued by the Gucci pendant. Wouldn’t have given it a second look if you hadn’t posted it.

  • Love!!! Got the grey Jcrew ribbed one you raved about 🙂

  • I love all your posts but the “uniform” posts make me all warm and fuzzy…love them!!

  • This is a perfect uniform, very French Vogue ! The boots are beautiful, with the perfect height, and the gold necklace puts the whole outfit together !

  • I also love your uniform posts. It’s so refreshing to see items that are wearable in everyday life. I’d been eyeing those boots for a while and this post helped nudge me to pull the trigger!

  • Love this post! Also love the sweater, which – thanks to you – I have now purchased in 3 colors.

  • Love all pieces here. However, I’d pass on the shirt because except for a few sweaters, I find the excess fabric gets in the way of comfort and wearability. Good luck wearing under a jacket. I just prefer ease and comfort and there are plenty of stylish shirts that give that.

  • Ink blue and black are so great together! I love the knit of the sweater–looks like a boucle? The heel on the ankle boot is ideal–all wonderful choices!

  • I love your uniform posts! I need fresh ideas for everyday wear more than red carpet looks. I just bought the YSL boots and they are gorgeous. Perfect height for walking all day.

    SheriNovember 5th, 2014  7:52 PM

  • Just bought the sweater!! Love the navy.

    RheaNovember 6th, 2014  12:23 PM

  • I’d have this as my uniform any day of the week. Might have to drop into J.Crew to look at autumn sweaters. And those boots!

  • Preston,
I’d love to see your picks for a warm and (moderately?) flattering winter coat to throw over this fabulous “uniform” when the snow/wind/rain starts coming…
many thanks for sharing your fantastic taste!

  • Did you find the fit of this sweater to be off in the shoulder/upper arms? I tried the XXS and while I’m aware it’s a boxy fit, mine had two triangle shapes jutting out at odd points — almost like it had been hung on a giant hanger. 🙁

    KelliNovember 6th, 2014  3:36 PM

  • Yes, I just tried on the sweater last night too… perhaps Theory or Ralph Lauren have a similar that wouldn’t make me look like I had a cardboard box on underneath? Normally J.Crew offers a great sweaters that are well shaped, and certainly many others in this fall’s line are! I love the wool on this one, the color and the nubbiness, but one try on, and it’s a giant No! 🙁
