Stress Relief

I was chatting with Caroline of Pardon My Obsession last evening and had to cut it short because I’m super stressed-out (sorry Caroline). A snowstorm the day before Thanksgiving is throwing me off my game. I’ve changed my daughter’s flight from L.A. (no easy feat this time of year), and we are all moving into the Waldorf for a night. Ironically, I’ve bought everything for Thanksgiving dinner, which proves I’m not completely losing it.

When all is said and done, I’m going to kick back and try a “rescue me” facial mask—recommendations welcome.

  • Super stressed here too. Coincidentally, I tried a facial mask and hot bath last night and felt claustrophobic, instead if relaxed. I’m juggling too many things, as often happens at this time of year, and it seems I never learn my lesson. Looking forward to suggestions as well.

  • I recommend a visit to Spa Castle! The Manhattan one should open soon.

  • I’d stay at the newly renovated Regency over the Waldorf. It’s pretty tired these days.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  • The ball is at the Waldorf–I’d stay at home if I could…

  • Oh, that will be fun. I remember those days. If it’s one that you are attending too, let us know what you wear. Hope you all have a great time.

  • Its not a facial mask, but have you ever given yourself a facial massage with coconut oil? Your skin will be so soft after it.

Thankfully, these just arrived, and a great shoe is always a fantastic stress reliever. Have fun at the ball, I’ve been to that one twice for goddaughter’s debuts.

  • I don’t always practice what I preach, but here goes. Best stress relief: Meditation…even for 10 minutes.

  • The best laid plans can sometimes go awry. Regardless of weather, and remembering we can’t control the weather, embrace the sweet tradition of a deb ball. Just be in the present, and try hard to remember it . . . it’s all over very quickly and on to the next thing. Celebrate!

  • I love Mario Badescu’s masks, especially the Super Collagen mask. Sometimes I find soaking a facecloth in ice cold water and covering my face feels great, a hot one does too. Depends on what my skin needs more.

    Happy Thanksgiving!
