Moving Forward

Chloe

As my friend Mary said “I’m done with fall” and, although it’s not even technically winter yet, I am too. For some reason, it’s easier for me to think about coats in July than sandals in February but, that’s the reality of the delivery schedule. And I love resort collections, which are in stores now. So, I’m starting to seriously think about the one or two pieces that I’ll want for SS15. TBC.

  • So ready for resort that even though the winter collections are gorgeous, they’re done – not done as in “over” – just done as in”We’ve been looking at all this for a long time, now we’re wearing it, time to move on!” In my head, or rather on my “real world” calendar, it’s January 15th, which means I’m thinking about the travel plans I made in August and even though it will all be beachy and informal, I’m also having that “What am I wearing for that trip?” pitter patter of the heart. This year seems different from those past – almost as if I’m sort of “skipping” winter. This is ONLY because I live in the northeast and it’s been pleasantly warmish and we haven’t yet had a big snow – sometimes we get a blizzard in November and by January everyone is dead-eyed, pale and cranky, but not so this year, so far. I’m thinking Resort/SS NOW and since all the best of F/W is no where to be found, it’s over. As Preston said, LONG over in the design world. So it feels modern and right to be thinking ahead – there’s was a Michael Kors black flared shirt dress, open down to there on the runway, with black flats. And white, white, white! That’s where my head is, too!

  • And I’m so happy we’re having real fall weather in Los Angeles, as I feel it’s been a very long time that I could wear a sweater, jacket, boots, all day and still feel crisp, not sweaty. But the photo above is gorgeous, but I think it’ll be awhile to my mind is there.
