Brown-Baggin’ It

WSJ. Magazine

When I realized how much I love my black hobo, I ordered one in beige. While at Céline, I spied the same bag in saddle and bought it, too. It’s still wrapped up, but, after seeing this story in today’s WSJ. magazine, I’m going to take it out for a spin. Caramel-hued leather is the handbag color for spring.

Bags above by Céline and Valentino.

  • I just love this color in a bag -so versatile. In the fall, I bought a Delvaux Le Pin in a caramel suede with caramel leather accents on the front pocket and strap. I am in love with this bag and plan to use it through the summer.

  • Great article! Looks like I need to dust off my Celine classic box bag in this color!

  • Love your posts!
Don’t forget the fabulous bags by Mark Cross! The Grace Trunk (a la Grace Kelly) at Barney’s is stunning: http://www.barneys.com/mark-cross-large-grace-trunk-bag-502783151.html#gclid=CPadyaHm3MQCFacF7AodezoAzw&q=mark+cross+bags&start=2.

  • I have had my Celine hobo in saddle since it was first introduced several years ago. It is still among
my all time favorites! Classic all year round.

  • Got a one at Zara in SF a couple of years ago when Zara was knocking off runway trends or were ahead of trends. Checked-in recently in Chicago and found nothing directional or interesting but maybe that is the midwest.

  • It’s always been my favorite color for bags, but don’t have one that I like at the moment. I may get the Celine Hobo, gap and all – when I saw yours in the photo, I realized it doesn’t bother me one bit, and really love it.

  • Not necessarily a lover of cognac, but those are some nice bags!
