I really like them and can’t believe I haven’t bought a pair yet. There are so many great options. Would love to hear from other Kic readers some recommendations based on comfort.
I buy a pair every summer, and never wear them because the rope instead is uncomfortable. I’ve always had a thing for the Chanel espadrilles, but can never find them to try on.
I never really liked espadrilles but nowadays there are so many pretty ones that I keep going in search for my next new pair for espadrilles! So pretty for the beach! http://milkandvelvet.com/
Love espadrilles, I never thought I would but they are actually so comfy and chic (especially the Saint Laurent ones !)

Love espadrilles! Love this post, particularly the black/white striped and leopard ones! They are the most comfortable shoes, wonderful for my summer wardrobe. My favorite ones I wear are Valentino -SO comfortable and chic and gets lots of compliments.
Soludos makes fabulous espadrilles as does Cavilani and Rope & Canvas makes a chic dip dyed espadrille in various colors.
I do love them, but the ones pictured are quite pricey for me for something that needs replaced after one summer. Not sure I could bring myself to actually buy the Chanel ones, which I could happily imagine wearing every day…In the meantime, I like Penelope Chilvers’ espadrilles which are v chic and comfortable.
Thanks Alex! I was just about to ask about affordable espadrilles. Surely this must be an item we can afford to save on? After all, they’re meant to be cheap and cheerful, worn in high summer and binned at the end of the season. I don’t consider them to be a major investment item. But then I don’t have much disposable income!
Somehow the flat espadrilles don’t suit me. But I love the ones with a little wedge and an ankle tie. So chic for summer! I agree with Kathy that the rope soles are uncomfortable. But the wedge heel versions (Castaner, Toni Pons, Paloma Barcelo) are usually lined in leather.
I have a valentino lace pair, it’s really chic and comfy.
has anyone tried the steve madden ones? i just picked up a bright blue suede pair with a slight platform. they are lined in leather so they are smooth on the feet. for $79 dollars you cannot go wrong. they also have a leopard print in calf hair for the same price. check it out
I wasn’t always a big fan but I have found a few I like. Just bought a pair of Soludos on Anthropoligie.com. I love them with white jeans on vacation.
I’m a fan of Soludos. They’re comfortable and I love their patterns. They run a little small on me, so I take the next size up.
I have always liked them, too. Usually wore the one with a wedge. Bought a pair of Tory Burch flat ones a few years ago and found them too flat. They made the soles of my feet uncomfortable if worn for an extended time. They were not lined, which I think was also part of the problem, too.
For me espadrilles are a must have. Every summer when I go to my in laws in Provence I buy them in the local supermarket. I pick up four pairs in navy, red, green and a stripe. They work out to something like 4 dollars per pair and by the end of the summer i’ve worm them to shreds.
VISCATA espadrilles, i bought 2pairs this year and I’m delighted with them, fashion espadrilles from Barcelona …. You can find them in www.viscata.com
