Long & Layered

A number of readers commented that Jessica de Ruiter’s dress looks like a long tee. I was thinking about that when I spied this pic (Sarah Harris of British Vogue?). I’m inspired by the long, striped shirt under the suede coat—a very cool look.

  • I have recently been on the look out for the perfect crisp white cotton long shirt dress as my go to piece for the summer. I feel I can layer it under my military jackets, black blazer or cashmere jumper. On its own with a brown leather belt and brown k jacques sandals but also over jeans on cooler days. Unfortunately I’m still looking…….

  • It’s a great look – do you think you have to be tall to wear it?

  • Great look! What I really like is the predominance of really stylish dressers who go for “subtly alluring” rather than “full on sexy”. Being covered up is definitely the way to go right now.

  • I don’t believe that’s Sarah Harris, but I do love that picture, and that whole style, too. Love the layering with the coat !

  • Love the mix of textures and the use of neutral colors. I think shorter people can wear the long layers, depending on the color combinations…vertical stripes help
