In The Wall Street Journal

After years of ear cuffs, the single statement earring, and “tribal” studs, Meenal Mistry of The Wall Street Journal heralds the return of the classic hoop in her story ‘Circle Back To Hoop Earrings’. Nothing beats this simple earring style in my book.

I have had hoops on the brain since your post of Kendall Conrad! Great timing. I want some big (not too big) hoops for summer!
I have two pairs of Kendall Conrad hoops that I love. I also remember some smaller hoops that you posted on a long while ago, that you wear and that are from Barney’s? I loved them, but don’t remember the designer.
I have a pair of dannijo hoop earrings that I absolutely love. Glad to see this style on the horizon again.

I never gave up my hoops.. really the only large size earrings I own and wear. Love them! A classic.

I also never stopped wearing them. I find them infinitely wearable in various sizes. I was reading one of those silly postings on the internet the other day saying what no woman over 30 should wear and hoop earrings were one of them. Oh well, missed that memo a few decades ago…
I love hoops! I remember seeing Hoops for the first time when I was the tender age of 13 yrs old and saw the older sister of a friend wearing them. I loved the look and wanted my own pair NOW! I asked my mom if I could get pierced ears that night. She refused vehemently! When I was 16 I pierced them anyway, and hid it with my long hair. My first pair of ear-rings were the trainers, but my second pair were HOOPS! Big hoops aren’t really me, so I wear a smallish ones. I have several and love them. Studs and Hoops are my favorite ear-rings. My favorite pair of hoops are small, gold with a little diamond. They were the first pair I bought of real quality when I started making better money. I was in late 20’s and still have them and wear them.
P.S. I’ve never regretted going behind my Mother’s back and piercing my ears. If you’re going to wear ear-rings 90% of your life it’s far more comfortable to have your ears pierced! My Mom wore clip-ons when she wore ear-rings; which was seldom.
LOL, Preston, you’re quite the enabler — I’m on the wait list for a pair of Kendall Conrad hoops (Cycad) ever since your post! There’s definitely something in the air….
I’m wearing mine again
