Monday Morning Must-Have

Following a moment of synchronicity — spying the beautiful hem-stitching on Gisele’s shirt collar on the POP cover plus an article in this past weekend’s WSJ on the resurgence of embroidery — I’m more than ready to shelve my minimalistic pieces and have a bit of fun with fashion. I’ve concluded that a white blouse with some sort of feminine detail (nary a classic men’s button-down here) should be on my fall list.

SEA embroidered top, J.W. Anderson pussy-bow, Chloé lace panel top, Miu Miu pleated blouse, Paul & Joe ruffled blouse, Oscar de la Renta lace-trimmed top, Chloé lace top, Valentino lace-paneled silk-chiffon blouse.

  • I have been buying feminine detailed white and cream shirts throughout the summer. Would love ideas on how to wear them in the fall.

  • One of my favorite fashion pieces is a beautiful white blouse with feminine detail. Years ago I splurged on the Runway 2006 Phoebe Philo for Chloe white blouse – the same one that was reissued for their anniversary celebration last year. I stalked that blouse until it went on sale and it was still out of my budget. To this day it is still one of my favorite most cherished pieces. It hangs in the front of my closet so I enjoy seeing it and wearing it. Only one rule – I do not drink red wine while wearing ;). Thanks Preston for sharing these beauties!

  • Every one of those blouses is gorgeous! I will be looking for a version of them that doesn’t look too young for me (I’m 64).

  • I like this trend and found a pretty top by Thakoon last spring. I’ve loved its versatility as a dress up or down optiion and, I should add, the price point. These shown are exquisite and undoubtedly beautifully made, but at nearly $3,000, I’ll take the blouse I can enjoy my wine while wearing!

  • An Anne Fontaine white shirt or blouse continues to be my go-to for this staple. I love your choices but see her in every one of them!
