Pippa Small

Pendant Envy

My friend, L.A.-based artist Kathy Leeds, has an enviable collection of Pippa Small pendants — Pippa actually snapped this pic of them on Kathy last week. I love the varied lengths, too.

Kathy asked me recently if I’d do a post on SoCal dressing. As a New Yorker who has never lived on the West Coast, I demurred—it wouldn’t be authentic. So, I turned the tables and asked Kathy to do a guest post for kic, instead. Stay tuned!

  • Thanks Preston. I love my pendants and they were chosen over years for to commemorate special events in my life, so I feel I carry the memory on me – sort of “amulets.” I hope everyone who reads this does take the time to click on the link about Pippa Small who is a friend ,and a woman I admire tremendously. She does so much to bring work to the women of India and Afghanistan, through the making of her jewelry as well.
I don’t think this look has to be just Pippa Small though. I love the idea of stacking necklaces with pendants with anything, from shells to heirloom pieces in a way that’s meaningful to the wearer.
