“The New Garconne- How to be a Modern Gentlewoman”

My friend Navaz Batliwalla, editor of the fab site Disneyrollergirl,  just released her first book “The New Garconne: How to be a Modern Gentlewoman.” To quote Navaz, the book “is a tribute to the kind of cool, discerning, grown up tomboys that I admire”. The fourteen women profiled in this thoroughly-modern style guide are indeed very cool, and they all embody “the duality of old meets new, luxury meets utility, masculine meets feminine”—the core qualities of a modern gentlewoman.

I’m urging Navaz to do a book signing in NYC- will keep you posted.

  • Highly recommend it! The advocate interviews are particularly interesting. This is not a book just about what to wear but a way of being.
