A Versatile Skirt

I have a number of events this spring that range from a daytime graduation to cocktails, launches, book signings, etc. When I saw this flirty Giambattista Valli skirt I had an ‘aha’ moment–it could be styled so many ways (with items I already have) and it wouldn’t look like I’m wearing the same thing over and over again.

Black Isabel Marant top and herewhite Isabel Marant top, brown A.P.C. sandals, Givenchy earrings, The Row mules.  I love this longer skirt by Ulla Johnson, too.

  • I feel so done with the Boho/Peasant look (although the skirt is cute) – but it seems like the trend is never going to end. Maybe I’m just aging out of it?

  • Funny, I’m over Boho too, but I like this skirt because it’s flirty, not “office-wear” and could go day-to-evening. But you are correct, it does lean “peasant”, especially with the blouses I chose. Hmmm…

  • The Boho look becomes very trendy every few fashion seasons, but it’s also a classic look, especially ruffle skirts or dresses and peasant blouses in the summer. The skirt’s color and fabric elevate it from leaning too much towards a tired trend.

  • Perhaps better with non-peasant style top. Something sleeker.

  • I love the skirt and its versatility. My first impression was fresh and flirty, not boho. I can see it for cold weather worn head to toe black with a sweater and tights as easily as with a tee and flat sandals in the summer. What a great piece to take on vacation!

  • I agree that Boho has a classic side that endures, especially in the summer. Absolutely love the white blouse.

  • I really like the nude shoes…I think the short skirt would look great at work with a tailored top and a neck scarf…very adaptable

  • I love this skirt and also love how it is styled by Net-A-Porter with a silk shirt. A definite possibility, as I think this is an incredibly versatile piece.
