The Fashion-Forward Item

I try to add a fashion-forward item to my wardrobe each season, this gives my classic outfits (see my blazer post) a bit of zing and keeps my look current. Sometimes it’s a big ticket item, sometimes it’s not. These are a few things I’ve had my eye on and just one would do the trick.

Giambttista Valli Jacket, J.W. Anderson earring, Burberry booties, Balenciaga chokerIsabel Marant corset belt, Vetements + Manolo Blahnik slingback, Balenciaga small tote.

  • Although my own style doesn’t go off script often, I could make an exception for the pink satin shoe!

  • Yes, I think the pink shoe would be my pick. I’m not feeling the corset belt. I’m not really liking the way they look in the fashion pics worn by people with bodies that can carry them, so I wonder how the trend will fare overall.

  • I am for the corset, which feels similar to a very wide belt that I have had for years. It would be great for controlling the volume of peasant tops and loose summer dresses. I also love the earring- perhaps I will have something analagous custom made in sterling silver.
