Espalier x Container Garden

My heart skipped a beat when I saw this image in AD—it’s from a story on Aerin Lauder’s family home in Palm Beach. I do a ton of container gardening and I’m also an espalier fanatic. This vintage cast-iron plant holder is right up my alley.

  • The previous owners of my home had something like this, but it was for candles they were burning outdoors. It stained the side of the house…and I’ve been angry about it ever since. I need to see this in AD to gain a fresh perspective, lol.

  • I’m in love with the table too. Maybe she’ll make reproductions of that plant holder? Would be great I think.

  • The container garden is charming. I am a fan of metal wall sculptures, although I have only actually purchased one. I think they make a wonderful statement when used judiciously.

  • That truly is a thing of beauty, but I agree with April, I’d probably only have one.
