Sounds of Summer

This has been a very good summer for music. Panorama is this weekend and I’m trying to go on Sunday to see Bishop Briggs, NiN, and Glass Animals. Lana Del Rey’s new album Lust for Life just dropped and the songs are definitely sunnier, yet still very personal. Del Rey even does a duet with Stevie Nicks, which is pretty good. However, here are my fave songs of summer 2017 that I currently have on repeat and sing along to: Arcade Fire’s Everything Now, Dig Down by Muse, The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness by The National, Sylvan Esso’s Die Young, Manchester Orchestra’s The Gold, Coldplay’s EP Kaleidescope, and of course the #1 Alt hit, Still Feel It by Portugal. The Man. Happy listening!

  • Always love your music recommendations. Lust for Life ? Lana del Ray is no patch on Iggy Pop, why would you use the title of another song and not just an obscure song but a well known song?

  • Wow! Thanks for these. I’m always looking for new fun music. Returning the favor to you, here’s another two songs that immediately went into my summer playlist:
‘Be Your Baby’ and ‘Sin’ both by Katie Hargrove.
