Redness Repair

This summer did my skin no favors. Every sunscreen I tried was irritating and I can only wear a light-weight foundation when I absolutely must. Many friends swear by Tracie Martyn products and this Soothing Serum on GOOP looks promising, too. Suggestions welcome!

  • Try Amore Pacific Natural Protector SPF 35. I also started using a micro-roller and the results are amazing!

  • Laural Skincare – Healing Balm will help. If you haven’t tried AnnMarie Gianni sunscreen, it’s good.

  • Hi Preston,
With my sensitive skin, I find Avene, Eucerin and CeraVe products the most helpful and less irritating. It is quite boring. I find the botanical based and organic products can be the most irritating. However, I am seriously considering Vinters Daughter…

  • I love Tracie Martin products! try the Pratima rose sunscreen. I buy it for may daughter and its really gentle, natural and doesn’t leave a white cast. The Darphin in a pink bottle for sensitive skin is also good

  • I really love anything by iS Clinical, but especially their Hydra Intensive Cooling Mask, it is the ultimate after summer, after sun treatment. It is a thick cooling gel that takes away redness and adds moisture back into skin. I also love their Pro Heal serum for redness and overall pigmentation. I have used their stuff for years and always been happy!

  • Malin + Goetz Vitamin e face moisturizer and for sunscreen I have been using 3lab SPF 50. Both products are oil-free. My skin is very sensitive and these two together have made a difference

  • For sunscreen, have you tried Elta MD? I’ve been using it for years and love how it disappears on the skin. It has a high SPF and feels like a light moisturizer going on. No stickiness or smell like many sunscreens.

I’m also really happy with the smoothing results from Clarins Lotus Oil. Plus, it feels soothing and nourishing. Let me know if you find anything fantastic!

  • I have mild rosacea and I swear by Shiseido’s Bio Performance Revitalising cream which I have used for years. I just discovered Erborian CC cream which gives better coverage than a tinted moisturiser but more natural than foundation. I use that with concealer on ‘red’ areas.

  • I have the same problem with my sensitive skin. I’ve tried Elta, Skinceuticals, Skinmedica, Shiseido etc..not to mention the BB CC creams. At the moment I use La Prairie day cream with SPF30 part of the Line Interception Power Duo. I liked very much but I’m looking for a less expansive alternative. Just saw Lisa Eldrige @ insta stories talking about a product Medik8 Hydr8 (English brand – all botanics). I’ll give a try

  • I have very sensitive skin ,and living in Australia means Sunscreen is a must. I find the MECCA COSMETICA
To Save Face SPF 30+fabulous and The 50+ version for days outdoors ideal. For smart days I use MECCA COSMETICA
In A Great Light Compact SPF 30 which makes my skin look like the colour PORCELAIN.
I am in my later 50s so need all the help I can get,…..
i think JCREW sourced this product range if not im sure it can be sent..
For more formal situations i use RMS un Cover fabbo…

  • Having sensitive and easy to burn skin with allergies to many skin products, EltaMD has been a godsend. I use it when my broad brimmed hat won’t shade my face completely. Delicate, light, blendable after the first whitish coverage, I find it very easy to use.

  • Have you tried Korean, Taiwanese, or Japanese beauty treatments? They tend to be nourishing and kind to skin, unlike a lot of Western products. Dr Wu and Cosrx are quite good. I’m also partial to a good snail cream!

  • Add me to the fans of Elta MD Clear. We spend a lot of time in the mountains year ’round, so sunscreen is a must. The Elta is one of my steps every single day. I also love CeraVe for cleansing. The rest of my products are either Neocutis or SkinMedica.

  • Paula’s Choice. The best. You can find her products online at Nordstrom, or her website. I have very sensitive skin, and her products are the only I will use.

  • I too use EltaMD – my dermatologist recommended it and it is the only kind that doesn’t make my skin really red and irritated. I love it. She has done wonders for my red, messed-up skin all around ;her name is Dr. Beer and she’s at 79th and Lex – highly recommend her.
