On The Hunt For

A Really Good Coat

For some reason, this Vanessa Seward wool tweed trench was not on my radar until I spied this pic on her Instagram feed and now it’s only available here.  Love the styling on Charlotte Gainsbourg in this story from Marfamily Issue 1—sometimes all you really need is a good coat and pumps.

  • It’s a gorgeous coat and the (ubiquitous) print makes more sense to me in a wool trench than in a blazer. You’d wear it forever because of the timeless cut and practicality.

  • Miss Preston, I so agree – the value of a wonderful coat cannot be overstated! Once the weather requires a coat, it really doesn’t matter what’s underneath it. It’s all about the coat, the shoe, and the handbag (and IMHO, without gloves a woman isn’t really dressed)! Fur pieces are a nice accompaniment, too!

  • . . . Speaking of coats, the First Lady wore stunning coats on her recent trip to Asia; she has lovely taste and should be acknowledged just as we do every other First Lady in history. Just sayin . . .
