Since it’s Small Business Saturday, I thought I’d rerun this post on Chrison & Bellina, my favorite go-to for hostess gifts and children’s presents located in the heart of historic Oyster Bay, NY. The shelves are stocked with jams and teas from Hediard in Paris, Turkish tea glasses that I use as vases for garden roses, Egyptian cotton towels, and boho blouses for running around. They also have a men’s shop, James Guy, right around the corner.
Also in Oyster Bay is The Printery, a local brewery, and a slew of great restaurants, including the newly opened 2 Spring. Neighboring Locust Valley has great shops, too—friends Meg Braff and Betsy Pash have antiques and furniture and the Locust Valley Bookstore is packed with must-reads.
But, small doesn’t necessarily mean local. Many of my favorite shops now sell online so I can support them that way, too. A few that I’ve found on my travels: Privet House in New Preston, Connecticut, The Brentwood Country Mart Shops, Aerin in Southampton, NY, and Sugar Tools in Camden, Maine are great. Please share your favorites so we can all check them out.
