Three to Give & Receive
Just a few weeks ago my friend Kathy mentioned the Instant Pot and I’d not heard of it. Not the case now, it’s all the rage and I’m giving one to my daughter for her new apartment and I’ve put one on my Christmas list—I’m just not sure which size would be optimal. Speaking of my daughter’s apartment in Bushwick, Brooklyn, we just split a Bee Sting pizza at Roberta’s (so good!) and I’m stocking up on spicy honeys—there are a few to choose from (here and here). We’ve been trying to eat a more plant-based diet and Laura Wright’s The First Mess Cookbook (and blog) is packed with great recipes—the photographs are beautiful, too.
Thank you, Laura T., for this fantastic article in The New York Times on the Instant Pot’s uses and recipes.
I have been a vegetarian for over five years ( I will eat wild caught fish on occasion), and the hardest part of it is developing a repertoire of recipes that you know you like and can fix fairly easily on a daily basis. Second hardest, is going out to eat and finding something on the menu you like ( hence, the willingness to eat fish). I have not heard of this book and blog, so I am interested in checking them out!
Spicy honey – how fantastic!
We love our Instant Pot, Preston. There are specialized cookbooks for recipes, and the NYT Cooking section also has a special packet of recipes to get you started. Enjoy!
I am researching the Instant Pot, as well, and would like recommendations as to buy the 6 qt or the 8 qt.
Any guidance for size, and where to purchase, would be appreciated! Thank you.
