Party Tights

If my memory serves me right, the Chanel PF16 show, above, jump-started the resurgence of black patterned tights (I could be wrong). And now, I want a pair to jazz up my LBDs.  Balenciaga (bottom right and on sale), Fogal, Wolford, and Emilio Cavallini make some of the best and I linked two brands to Amazon so you can have them delivered by New Year’s Eve.

  • Love Pernille’s take on the patterned tights trend. Never thought it was for me, but l’m now loving the idea. Just need the occasion!

  • I just adore patterned stockings! Bottega Veneta featured a fabulous “dot” stocking in all of their advertisements this past fall, and I looked high and low for them, including calling BV to interrogate them. No luck! I suspect they were a one-off local Italian find. But I will seek these out. There is something unexpected and slightly dangerous about wearing patterned stockings which give any LBD a special edge.

  • I love the photos you chose and thanks for the suggestion – may dig out mine from the early 2000s to jazz up all black. Tricky look to pull off but you are SO right that this is a great way to jazz up the winter all black outfit blahs. Happy New Year! 🙂 Viv from
