The Paintings of Irving Penn

Irving Penn was one of Vogue‘s most celebrated photographers and I’m fortunate to have worked with him during the 10 years that I was at the magazine. When I left he sent me a note where he wrote “Preston, you had the worst job at Vogue, but you did it so well.”

Thank you WSJ. Magazine for the heads up on an exhibition of Mr. Penn’s paintings—I didn’t even know that he painted…

The paintings of Irving Penn will be shown at the Pace and Pace/MacGill Gallery, 32 East 57th Street, New York City, from September 13, 2018 through October 13, 2018.
