Prada Please!
Last month Miuccia Prada sprinkled a few gorgeous Pre-Fall looks into the men’s Mary Shelley-inspired show. Yesterday, Ms. Prada continued the monster theme in the FW19 women’s collection with a few nods to Wednesday Addams thrown in. This is one of my favorite shows so far — smart, beautiful, with lots of covetable pieces — I feel like we are often trying to fit square pegs into round holes and Prada just continues to brilliantly do what she does so well. Bravo!
I can almost feel that soft, thick wool of the jacket! And a floaty skirt on a dress is one of the most pleasantly feminine looks, so lady like without being frivolous! Love it all.
That handbag – swoon!
LOVED this show, just gorgeous.
Bottega Veneta was a total letdown. I think we need to stop looking for Phoebe’s replacement — her work for Celine was a time and a place, which is now over. I noticed you didn’t review the BV show and I know your policy of only posting on what you like. May I intuit that you agree?
Nina, I alluded to your sentiment in my post. Let’s not try to make Daniel Lee (or any designer) the new Phoebe, let him have his own vision as he steers the BV ship on a new course. Lee is young and I’m sure he’ll find his footing and start producing the covetable pieces we “thinking women” crave. And yes, I only post on what I like and would want to wear myself.
I agree, BV felt awkward and tricky. Daniel Lee knows what we want and I’m sure he’ll deliver over time. Prada was divine, btw. That bag in gray…
Fully agree with you on your perspective on Prada, from the men’s show to this weeks show, femininity, beautifully romantic, less is more, empowering!
