Transitioning Into Warmer Weather: The Denim Skirt

My parkas are pushed to the back of the mudroom racks and two trenches, fisherman-knit cardigans, short wool coats, Barbours, and light jackets are front and center — welcome to transition season.

A denim skirt is a transition staple and I’m on the hunt for a new one. I love a faded version, like LH’s above, for the weekend, but a more tailored skirt, paired with a navy blazer, is perfect for meetings. A.P.C.’s 70s-inspired skirt, below, has been my fav for four years — it’s really gone the distance. Now I want something a bit longer like this one by Gucci and here, but with a kinder price tag. Stay tuned.

  • Try Max Mara…

  • I bought that APC skirt when you posted on it 4 years ago and still love it! It’s on sale and I may get another one. The Gucci skirt is perfection, but the price is certainly not. Let us know what you find.

  • The Gucci skirt is really cute and practical too, but I agree, rather pricey for denim! I’d consider hiring someone to make a similar one for me.

  • Toteme has a good one

  • I am trying to find a fisherman knit cardigan, where is there a nice one that is not priced as high as St. Laurent?

  • I too, bought that APC when you posted it. It was reading too short for me. With my eye seeing the midi as a better length I would love to find a denim one that hits an inch below the knee. Proportion is everything!
