Sturm Storm

Either Dr. Barbara Sturm’s products are phenomenal or she has a brilliant PR team because recently there have been a number of articles that rave about her skincare line. I’m inclined to think it’s the former and would love to know if anyone can clue me in. xp

  • I started using the body lotion a few months ago and I am sold…finishing up a few other face products then ready to give it a go….

  • Hi,
I tested these products in my local Mecca Store here in Adelaide Australia!!!!
If I had the budget I’d purchase the entire range in a flash. Absolutely beautiful in every way and I’m sure they work or they would not be in Mecca with the way our exchange rate is at the moment. They are about 35% more expensive here than the states.

  • All I have is her Lip .Balm…very expensive, but I’m a sucker for an expensive lip balm…

  • The latter. She’s an orthopedic surgeon who, like many MD’s without dermatology (and aesthetic) backgrounds, turned to anti-aging skincare after noticing what a huge market it was becoming. I’m sure her products are very elegant and pleasing to use, but they are no more special than other well-formulated skincare lines. As for her star product, the blood-infused cream, better to invest in PRP therapy (which is sound and has proven benefits) rather than a moisturizer claiming to have a similar effect.

  • She is an orthopedic surgeon who capitalized on beauty industry. Her packaging is gorgeous and she is very charismatic. Add an excellent PR team and you have success. Her products smell and feel great, but completely overpriced. No magic there.

  • I do like the facial scrub, it’s great. However, I’d agree with some of the comments above if I were to review the face cream- I don’t find it stands out.

  • Love the voices of reason on here! They do look so pretty though…!

  • I tried a few of her products and let me say that some are phenomenal. I found the cleanser and the glow drops not worth the money. The face cream, the clarifying serum, the scrub and the skin food are really good and helped my skin where other luxury brands failed. I agree about the PR but my skin looks better with her products.

  • I’ve been using her products for couple of years and can’t live without the hyaluronic serum. Its expensive and totally amazing. The face scrub, foam cleanser, and clay mask are great too. I would pass on her face cream (heavy and weird smell even though its unscented) and the eye cream ( it irritated my eyes). She has a new clarifying face cream for combo/oily skin that feels much better.

  • I was given a free moisturiser sample with an unrelated Net-a-Porter purchase, and I was totally unimpressed.
    I’m a NIOD disciple though…

  • I’ve had samples of the serums and thought they were only ok but the sunscreen glow drops are fantastic for me Preston. I have rosacea and finding sunscreen that doesn’t irritate or break me out is a challenge and these work for me plus I don’t need moisturizer so it’s a win. ❤️

    SueMJune 14th, 2019  11:52 AM

  • Thank you for this, I, too, have rosacea and can never find sunscreen. xp

    PrestonJune 14th, 2019  12:17 PM

  • Preston, have you tried supergoop city serum? It is fantastic on my rosacea skin. Elta Md is pretty good as well.

    JulieJune 14th, 2019  12:45 PM

  • I agree with Julie’s comment about the supergoop city serum. I have rosacea and extremely sensitive skin and it is the only sunscreen I can use.

    STJune 14th, 2019  7:33 PM

  • Elta UV Clear “calm and protect” is marketed for acne but great for rosacea.

    AllisonJune 15th, 2019  2:10 PM

  • Thank you, Allison. xp

  • I have eczema and sensitivity to many products and cosmetics, especially fragrance. I have been using the hyaluronic acid and rich moisturizer for the past few months. My skin has never been better! I also have the serum sampler, which has been a great way to test drive new items. They work for me!
