70s Accessories
For fall my accessories will have a 70s vibe courtesy of the Celine FW19 collection. I’ve ordered the aviators (the green lenses are good, too) and put my name down for the Crésy bag in both saddle and black. A Rolex fits this vibe, too, and I’ve been wearing my favorite that has the floral motif.

Perfect! I could live happily ever after with a smart, tailored shoulder bag, great sunglasses, and my Rolex watch. A recent restoration cost more than the original cost of the watch, but it’s the gift that keeps on giving. I love the sportiness of a Rolex! (Chris Evert wore a Rolex with her white tennis dresses). It’s a workhorse: wear it when washing dishes, hiking a mountain, weeding, swimming, diapering, to the office, or dinner dates. FWIW, a man with excellent taste recently told me never to wear an oversized watch. : )
I love oversized, but a midsize watch with some heft suits me best.
It’s starting already, I’m falling under the sway of the 70’s, bought tobacco suede Isabel Marant sandals this summer (instead of black) and that bag will haunt me from now on. Also, just remembered I stole my husbands aviators and have been wearing them all summer. Sigh.
Love these classic items. For me, watches have no rules. Wearing my late grandfather’s vintage Omega Sea Master gives me more pleasure than whether it’s a “correct” size.
Ha, Paula, I have a friend with outstanding taste and he recently commented that a woman in an oversized Rolex is the “chicest” look around. Funny. Goes to prove that we should all wear what we love – some will love, some will hate but the only thing that matters is how it makes us feel! xo

Why is fall so synonymous with late 70s style? I’ve just acqired a Maison Michel Virginie fedora for fall. But I can’t get these images out of my head now, along with the album cover of Carly Simon’s No Secrets.
Karen, I would love wearing that one, too! No hard rules about watches – the fellow was just guiding me on a cocktail watch purchase. I’m a less is-more profile, but a vintage/heirloom/meaningful piece always, always wins!
How do the Celine sunglasses fit? I have a small face and am always on the lookout for aviators that fit.
They are a large aviator, but very comfortable.
