To-Do List

Summer Weekend

I haven’t been this excited about a film since forever! Arianne Phillips, the costume designer of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, is brilliant and I am fortunate to have worked with her on a few projects years ago. Thankfully, it will be blistering hot on Sunday so I won’t feel guilty being in a theater.

I’ll be away most of August and need a new swimsuit — a large assortment are winging their way here. And this tomato galette with garlic, cheese, and chives looks scrumptious — thank you for the recipe @bonappetitmag!

  • Snap! There’s so much hype about this film, I can’t wait!

  • And it didn’t disappoint!!

  • I saw that recipe and I want to make that galette too! I am off to get tomatoes now. I hope the movie is good! A theater is a great place to be on really hot summer days.

  • That tomato galette is the thing to make this summer–with heirloom tomatoes. The demonstration of how to make it @feedfeed was so inspiring! Heard the movie was awesome!

  • I just heard about this movie yesterday, but the buzz I have heard is all good. Tomatoes, garlic and cheese, three of my most favorite foods. I am much more in touch on the food front. Will be making!

  • My husband found the movie to be slow. I found it to be a lovely, nostalgic meander through 1969 Hollywood. I even got a little teary in the end. I loved it!

    BarbaraJuly 29th, 2019  12:28 AM

  • I agree with Barbara – too slow. The movie needed editing. Loved Margot’s clothes and hair. And the music was great.

    MoiraJuly 29th, 2019  8:14 AM

  • I loved it too. So glad I didn’t read a review.
