Into the gloss

Beauty on Ice

I had an ‘aha’ moment while reading an Into The Gloss profile on Jessica Joffe, co-founder of the clothing line me Chose. Ms. Joffe shared that she keeps many of her beauty products in the refrigerator above. On these dog days of summer, this is something I think about but don’t do. I wonder which products would benefit from being stored in the fridge. Hmm…

  • Scent, nail varnish and facial spritzes all definitely benefit from living in the fridge. For a while during my twenties my fridge contained more of these than food…..

  • I’ve tried this with vitamin C products and facial mists but I invariably forget they’re in the fridge downstairs when I’m in my bathroom upstairs.

  • I can think of one – Sisley of Paris floral spray mist for the face. I just bought this while on vacation, and it is a beautiful product! I can only imagine if it were chilled!

  • Hi Preston!

We had a rental in cold spring harbor for a little while that didn’t have central air. (verrry old, charming house, but…). The bathroom got especially hot, and I was very concerned about my pricey biologique products. I was told the humidity was bad for them and the refrigerator would help… BUT, once they’re kept in the fridge, they must stay there. You can no longer travel with them or leave them at room temp…
