Something Pretty

Three enormous boxes filled with wardrobe basics (jeans, tailored pants, leather leggings, and a satin slip dress) arrived yesterday. The slip dress and leggings are keepers, the rest doesn’t fit. It’s so hard for me to find trousers to begin with, online is an extra challenge.

While trying on black and grey items, I had a yen for something pretty. This Prada tunic is on my Resort list — the embroidery, smocked neck, and easy shape are right up my alley. Might look good over the leather leggings…

  • Which leggings did you buy? That Prada tunic is very you.

  • Hah! Yes, it is very me, the me that still dresses like I’m six. Smocking, Fair Isle, school uniform skirts, etc. Joseph leggings because I can just cut them to the perfect length, no hemming.

  • Piazza Sempione’s Audrey capri have been my long time go to pant. There’s a tropical wool version and also a cotton. You can find them online at Saks & Neiman’s.

Have you tried Mi Golondrina ? Gorgeous pieces!

  • I have the same question as Kathy. Which leggings did you purchase? I am looking for the same.

  • Do you mind sharing your satin skirt choices?

  • Take note, high necklines are the chic new antidote to decades of plunging necklines and overexposure of flesh. The little smock top wouldn’t be standout as an off-the-shoulder or V-neck. As a fan of t-neck and crew necklines, I’m elated!
