On My Radar

Do Up Brown

Adding a few brown items to my wardrobe was like hitting the refresh button. Paired with grey is currently my favorite combo.

  • Hello Preston, so on it! I’m loving brown shades that are hazel and chestnut toned.

  • I came across an old ad Agnona ad and it was a robin’s egg blue dress with the most delicious saddle brown suede boots. Browns have such a warmth and elegance to them, like eggplant. Not worn or celebrated nearly enough. That CHANEL bag is KILLING me, though lol! Perfect image as always, Preston.

  • Too funny, this was the one image that really caught my eye from Copenhagen (can’t really get behind neons and lots of colour). What clever girls they are, can only imagine their WhatsApp threads the night before lol. I’m on a coat buying embargo but either of those has me twitchy.

  • I love grey and chocolate brown together – Ralph Lauren has done this combo in past collections and it always look so chic.

  • So happy that brown is back on the menu! True, rich chocolate brown was my absolute favorite in the 90’s and early aughts. Over the past 5-10 years it’s been nearly impossible to find brown basics, or dresses for that matter. It’s always struck me as odd, because it is to my mind a perfect neutral. So chic with gold jewelry and sun kissed skin. Love it.

  • once again, perfection! adore the color schemes. robin’s egg blue is always a fave, and brown, beige with grey is divine. look forward to your posts daily. feeds my passion for fashion.

  • As a tall Scot living near Glasgow, the “Copenhagen set” possibly provide the most style inspiration for me. They are always elegant, practical and re-wear their clothes a lot. To me, they represent a much more relatable European style than that of the French and Italians (although it’s all blending now). And a lot of them are tall!

Now my hair is white and my complexion very cool, I steer clear of browns even though I know there are shades I can wear. And of course, it’s everywhere at the moment so I am tempted. But no, I’m sticking to my navy, grey, white, pastels and jewels palette. But on you Preston, it will look wonderful.

  • Preston, any idea who made the coat with the brown piping on the far right?

  • Googles “Copenhagen street style” immediately. Very stylish crew. #CPFW?
