On My Inspiration Board

Bits & Bobs

After my Thinking About Spring post I tracked down the last Chanel Cruise headscarf. I won’t wait too long on the ones in the Jacquemus FW20 collection — both the navy and white are great.  I love a white button-down as much as the next woman, but it often looks ho-hum on me. I’m inspired by how Lauren Santo Domingo styled her Toteme shirt.  And a classic earring gets me every time.

  • or she could be pulling a 90s sharon stone, and it’s actually her husband’s shirt.

  • Preston, totally agree. Love the white shirt as a classic, but on me, its drab, droopy or stays white/crisp for 1 wash. I find white button downs very starchy and hard to continually maintain it chicness wear after wear.

  • Hi guys! The shirt is Toteme, a regular white shirt I just wrapped it instead of buttoning. The skirt is Alexander wang. I bought both on moda!

  • Great post! The UK press has been posting on headscarves too …. must be a thing! I’m really looking forward to Spring and feel strongly that I want to take my look forward. And I’m eyeing up sustainable brands. The age of aquarius is taking hold!

  • @Jillian Ross Let us know what sustainable brands you find. I’m curious. Ditto about white shirts but I have found The Row white shirts to be the best quality and fit, just the right balance of stiffness and ease–difficult to find both. I bite the bullet and buy one of their white shirts every season.

  • Could you please tell us where the earrings are from? Preston love your posts.

  • For those – like me – who may lack the styling gene, here’s a white shirt option from Vince that crosses over itself: https://www.vince.com/convertible-button-down-V649712312.html?dwvar_V649712312_color=137OWT#trk_msg=AO8GTL9H4NB43EDOHB62GV76U0&trk_contact=N7FR57M40HQKVA6FOL2HKG5PQG&trk_sid=RIL1O3VOOV0JLC22518PBDAM48&bxid=24CC44591593347144A8341DA3&utm_source=Listrak&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=shop%2Bnow&utm_campaign=20200211women&utm_content=spring-launch-women&start=35
