Well Versed

I have tricky skin and cannot tolerate most products. Ironically, many of the costliest do the least and a few less pricy products work miracles. Versed, sold at Target, is an affordable, clean skincare line that now counts LVMH as an investor. Has anyone tried it? I’m ordering a few items and will report back.

  • I understand your frustration. I have very sensitive skin and eyes that react with a tired strained feeling. I have tried them all from Tata Harper to La mer.
And the two that work for me are both around $20. Embryiosse & Welda skin Food.

  • It’s top of my list! I’ve heard great things about it. I too have very sensitive skin.

  • I got some interesting advice from the facialist at a resort on my last vacation. I asked her about tata harper products which they sold at the resort. And she said, at our age, we should only buy dermatologist level products. So, I contacted my dermatologist and they hooked me up with two lines sold in their office that I’ve been using since. They seem to work well and I’m no longer tempted by the next new and greatest thing I read about. ( for my face at least!!!- let’s face it, there is always something new and wonderful to buy!!).

  • I have had good experiences with items from the Inkey List and the Ordinary! My skin is not particularly sensitive but my eyes are! I use eyedrops 4-5 times a day and rinse them morning and evenng with saline eye wash and that does help.

  • I haven’t tried Versed, but they have a lot of interesting, affordable items that aren’t just what every other line offers. I think one of the founders is the cofounder of WhoWhatWear.

  • Embryolisse can be used sparingly and works beautifully when my skin becomes hypersensitive and reactive.

  • Paula B., do you mind sharing the names of the lines your derm office sells? I would like to check with my derm on them. Thank you!

  • I too have sensitive skin and occasionally have rosacea flareups. I only use my dermatologist sells. Sometimes I go for awhile and just use CeraVe wash and moisturizer – which was highly recommended by my allergist as well.

  • I’ve tried the Versed serum and really liked it. Planning to branch out with a few more of their products.

  • I’ve just started using the overnight facial peel that you leave overnight and in the morning do your usual routine. I use twice a week. It’s lightweight and I have to say I like how my skin looks and feels in the morning. I also bought the brightening eye gel but haven’t used it yet. Look the price point is reasonable and quality is high. BTW, I do not have sensitive skin.

  • I had a laugh with the name of the skin care line, Versed is also the name (trade name) for an iv medication we commonly use in the hospital to sedate patients for procedures (I am a physician). I think the pronunciation is different but still funny.

  • To Gail C – my dermatologist recommended Neocutis ( strongly recommending the bio serum ) and Skin Better Science ( strongly recommending Even Tone Correcting Serum and AlphaRet exfoliating peel pads. They also prescribed for me a retain A cream saying it was better than over the counter products including retin a .
I think different dermatologists carry different lines. These are the ones mine sell. I actually went in looking for a different line that was recommended to me ( the name escapes me) but I’ve been happy with my results so far. There are so many products it can be completely overwhelming. But for skin sensitivity, I’d think a dermatologist would be helpful! Thank you for asking!

  • @ceejay – glad I was not the only one who was also pronouncing it like the drug Versed. I have been a PACU RN for 37 years and wish that we could just use this pretty cream when an unruly one comes along! xx

  • With sensitive skin, rosacea & being of a certain age, I use LaRoche Posay products; even their makeup line which, if some products are not available here can be ordered from Europe, is very light with good coverage and lovely feel,

  • Thank you so much, Paula!

  • The Ordinary is amazing. They will customize a regimen for you at less than $100 in total for all the products! I noticed a big difference the very next day. It has been almost a year and my skin has changed completely. I get compliments all the time. Between that and my Westman Atelier foundation and blush, I feel like these products have taken at least 10 years off my face and neck.

  • I have always has sensitive, dry skin and I have had great luck with Embroylisse, Weleda and Bioderma as they have a gentle cleanser and a day cream for those with rosacea, which I also have. I absolutely love the Westman Atelier products for makeup, in fact, I may never use any other brand again.
