On My Mind

A New Blue

New address, new shade of blue. Smythson’s Nile Blue has been my stationery color forever, and I still have a number of cards left. But, I needed to put the new address on the envelopes and a change felt right. Smythson closed their stores indefinitely, but you can still shop online and place bespoke orders.

  • Like the blue but think of you as the other blue!

  • I am a stationery fanatic. I love Crane and Mrs. Strong. The embosser from Williams Sonoma with the seals work great and you can buy the interchangeable plates for your address change needs. All on sale at 20 percent off. Also, you can personalize other plates which are great for gift tags too. I love them!

  • Beautiful. What color ink will you use to write your messages?

    BarbaraMarch 20th, 2020  11:33 AM

  • Oh, that’s a good question. I’ve always used navy fat tip pens and will probably stick with them.

  • Gorgeous!
Thanks to my daughter’s choice of light blue and ivory for her wedding, we are in full blue mode around here! I find soft shades of blue so beautiful and easy to live with.I re-upped my supply of Mode d’Paris stationery in blue from your friend, Allison. Light/powder blue is elegant, crisp, timeless! I love Pelican fountain pens, one filled with their beautiful black ink and one with blue.

  • So beautiful….a gorgeous blue. A charcoal gray ink would be great.

  • Very nice…I like this better than Nile Blue. This is the color I ordered to use as Thank You cards after my second wedding almost 16 years ago…I still have them, and they are still used.

  • That color of blue is almost. Just almost like a dip
in a cool pool on a warm day. Splash.
