Unconditional Magazine Issue #6

A Simple Chain

All the chatter about Connell’s silver chain necklace in the tv adaptation of ‘Normal People’ reminded me of this gorgeous story that Alexandra Nataf shot for Unconditional  issue #6. Ilona Hamer’s styling with this simple chain is chic as can be.

  • I think the clean, blunt cut hair and terrific high-low color balance makes the necklace charming. I don’t see the same little necklace working as well with big or over-done hair.

  • Couldn’t agree more Preston. I have been looking for the perfect, simple, everyday gold chain for ages now and it’s surprisingly harder than one might think. I might have to fish out that old issue of Unconditional, but if you have any suggestions they would be most welcome!

  • Sadly, there is no product information on the chain in the story, “model’s own”.

  • There are so many sources for simple but still unusual chains! Spinelli Kilcollin has a lovely chain in all combinations of metals and lengths. Even Etsy has sellers that deal in gold chains.

  • I can’t get past that great haircut! I love the chain too.

  • Hi Preston. After looking at the chain, is it possible that it’s Sophie Buhai’s Simple Chain?

Thank you again for all of your great posts! KIC has been a wonderful source of calm, interest, and enjoyable ‘conversation’, especially during this time. Very appreciative.

  • Lovely and possibly the same chain. You’d think if it were by Sophie Buhain the magazine would’ve credited it.

  • Everyone looking for the brand of this chain should rather look for vintage, it doesn’t look like a contemporary one. The vintage one will always be better quality in terms of work and material. Lovely haircut!
