Dry Run

My search for a deodorant that works continues. I just picked up this one by Vichy and so far so good. Smells great, too.

I bought the above at my local pharmacy, but the one in the link looks even better.

  • I know this brand is good but I’m looking for a brand that is toxin free. Any recommendations?

  • Oooh! Please update as to whether this one really works!
I have been enamored of Donna Karan Cashmere Mist deodorant for well over 15 years…but the idea of something more natural that can man handle summer sweat is an almost grail like search.

    MelissaJune 6th, 2020  9:32 AM

  • Marcy, I was using Schmidt’s, but the only one that really worked is the charcoal, which is very heavy.

    PrestonJune 6th, 2020  9:37 AM

  • I have tried many natural ones and found Native Lavender to be the best. Being a breast cancer survivor finding a natural deodorant that works has been a mission.

    CarolynJune 6th, 2020  9:45 AM

  • I recently switched to Kopari and love it. The gardenia smells great and it’s all natural, plant based. Worth a try.

  • I just ordered the Vichy a few days ago and am waiting for it to arrive. I like Schmidt’s Bergamot Lime and Native Cucumber Mint. Both work well for me except when I’m working out or on especially active days. Fingers crossed the Vichy will work.

  • I’ve tried them all! The best natural deodorant
hands down is Agent Nateur Holi Rose. It has a subtle rose scent and it WORKS. Long days at the beach, intense workouts you name it. I ‘d give it a try!

  • I have very sensitive skin and the Weleda sprays and Clarins roll-on both work very well.

    MichelleJune 6th, 2020  10:19 AM

  • The Native deodorants are wonderful and effective.

    JulieJune 6th, 2020  10:46 AM

  • I’ve been using MegaBabe rosy pits ever since I read a review that said it smelled like Le Labo Rose 31, which I’m obsessed with (I even bought the Le Laundress laundry soap). So far so good.

    LauraJune 6th, 2020  11:09 AM

  • I’ve been using Clarins since high school.

    PrestonJune 6th, 2020  11:13 AM

  • I have been using natural deodorants for a number of years, and I will never turn back. My favourites are Kopari (coconut oil based, smells like a dream and goes on clear) and Native (favourite scents are jasmine& cedar or eucalyptus &mint). You do have to adjust to the idea that these are not antiperspirants, but with all of the research out there about how toxic antiperspirants are, to me it’s a switch that’s worth it.

    JennaJune 6th, 2020  11:14 AM

  • I love the Vichy 72 hour formula. You need to buy it abroad, but you will never perspire again!

    SusanJune 6th, 2020  11:34 AM

  • I like type:A natural deodorant in Crisp Citron; it works, and they offer several scents as well as fragrance free. Target carries, or purchase direct from type:A website. They just started to make a natural hand sanitizer too!

    MaryAJune 6th, 2020  11:45 AM

  • Preston have you tried the Crystal brand? It’s mineral based with essential oils. I love the lavender & White Tea roll on. The roll on works better than the stick or crystal version. And bonus no white residue on black clothes. If you try it be patient, it might take a few weeks for your body to adjust to a natural product.

    MJJune 6th, 2020  11:59 AM

  • I use something called Thai Crystal Deodorant Mist that I get on Amazon. It is FANTASTIC (though for heavy workouts I still use a chemical deodorant). My clothes are unstained, it controls my sweat enough, and it keeps me odor free for about 24 hours. The only drawback is that I have to check a bag when flying because they don’t have a travel size.

    KHJune 6th, 2020  12:29 PM

  • Agent Nateur and Lavanila make great natural deodorants that actually work and smell amazing:))

    Michelle RamerJune 6th, 2020  12:43 PM

  • I like Biossance. In addition to their deodorant, I love their cleansers. The cleansing oil is terrific.

    Paula BJune 6th, 2020  1:41 PM

  • I have been eyeing Corpus Naturals range. Are they worth a try?

    ZivileJune 6th, 2020  5:15 PM

  • Real Purity Roll -On Deodorant is the most effective
deodorant I’ve ever used, and it’s clean and green!
You can purchase it on Amazon.

    Shelley SterrettJune 6th, 2020  11:36 PM

  • I am trying Surface Deep pads. Read about them on The Purist.

    Mary Margaret VasquezJune 7th, 2020  12:00 AM

  • I love Megababe and they just came out with tiny travel size that are perfect.

    DebJune 7th, 2020  8:35 AM

  • Just tried Corpus deodorant and love it-scent is Nº Green-bergamot, pink lemon, orange blossom and cardamom. Wonderful smell and works for me.

    Mary Beth TaylorJune 7th, 2020  10:45 AM

  • I second Agent Nateur (I use No 3 but I wish they would come out with a fragrance free option) and Type:A (I use The Minimalist, Fragrance Free). I might try Native and Kopari thanks to the above recommendations and I agree with Jenna that it is well worth switching to a natural deodorant.

    Paula B.June 7th, 2020  6:56 PM

  • Hi Preston – I thought it was a given that Malin & Goetz makes the best natural deodorant!

    Dawn KiernanJune 7th, 2020  8:50 PM

  • Nuxe is my favorite; not available in the US but can get shipped easily from Europe. HIGHLY recommend.

    MatiJune 7th, 2020  11:41 PM

  • I stocked up on this the last time I was in France. It’s great! MUCH cheaper there – around $12 euros for a 3 pack.

    JenniferJune 8th, 2020  11:41 AM

  • I love this deodorant. It doesn’t leave a white film, fresh clean scent – love it!

    Lisa EastmanJune 15th, 2020  9:31 AM

  • You should try Nfuse – it is magnesium based – it’s founded by two sisters and its absolutely amazing!!
