Chic Bits

On My Inspiration Board

This ’90s image of Esther Canadas is my fall style compass — the coat and headscarf are effortless and evergreen. Since I always push up my sleeves, I fell hard for the Prada sweater on @carlottaoddi. It’s listed as grey but is actually blue IRL. For three years I’ve been “off” white jeans, however, I’m seriously considering a new pair by Ann Mashburn. And, I spied this Saint Laurent FW20 hobo on @suzannekoller‘s feed — so good and so me.

  • I have the white Ann Mashburn white denim jeans in your pic. They are great! They are stretch denim and comfortable.

  • These Ann Mashburn jeans are described as their “second-ever five-pocket silhouette”. Well, I bought the first-ever – a classic straight leg, in white – and reach for them more than any other pair in my closet. A grown-up jean, really chic just like their site says.

  • I’ve also been wearing more light denim than white but the other day when it was cool and rainy I wore white with a black linen shirt and felt, dare I say it, chic. Thanks for the brand tip.

  • Speaking of hobos – did you see that Hermes is bringing back the Trim? (Gucci is also bringing back the Jackie, but I am a Trim girl at heart.)

  • A few years ago I gave my Trims to a dear friend who w/could not buy them herself. Good karma, right?

    PrestonJune 25th, 2020  7:14 PM

  • Definitely good karma! I tend to give away bags that I’m not using, rather than consigning them, for the same reason. But my vintage Trims are just getting sad — they may be past the point where the spa can revive them. So I snapped up a new one in gold (ie tan). I’m excited to see it!

  • I’d get a large one this time around. Hmm…
