Saint Laurent Pre-Fall 2020

Ponchos & Over-The-Knee Boots

Two of my favorite things — ponchos and over-the-knee-boots — are in the Saint Laurent Pre-Fall collection. I’ve never seen a denim jacket transformed into a poncho, quite cool.

Knit poncho here.

  • I love these looks so much! Ponchos and OTK boots are among my favorite fall looks – and I love the idea of the jean jacket poncho – fabulous!

  • Love both ponchos, but the jean jacket version is really amazing.

  • There is something right on point about Saint Laurent at the moment. Weaving in the effortless and comfortable (the knit, the faded denim) with something edgy and cool (the boots, the poncho)… perfect for most of us who are tentatively merging back into the world of fashion and getting dressed after being in lock-down.

  • It doesn’t help that I lived through ponchos in the 70’s, but even so, unless it were a luxe cashmere, I wouldn’t don a poncho. They are impossible to drive in, and they won’t work with a cross body bag. Just as with the huge sleeve trend, a poncho will be dragging across your plate and knocking over your friend’s coffee. : )))
I would love to see the tall boots with a gorgeous wool jacket or coat!

  • The cream knit poncho is beautiful. A poncho is a socially acceptable way to wear a blanket in public – what’s not to love?
