Summer Updates
Mid-July and it’s hot, hot, hot. I’m pulling out my favorite summer recipes and having most meals on a big farm table off the kitchen. While packing to move, I relentlessly culled my white shirts, which freed me up to replace a few. As careful as I am in the sun, I often overlooked my hands and they show it — going to test-drive the Chanel Le Lift line. And, I hear A Good Neighborhood is a good read.

What's New
I am enjoying A Good Neighborhood! I too have neglected my hands – thank you for the Chanel inspiration.
I am looking forward to reading, A Good Neighborhood as I just finished Friends and Strangers. I appreciate your book suggestions. Thank you.
Thanks for the reminder about this recipe. I was inspired to go looking for white shirts but ended up buying a leather and an oversized Ann D instead of a practical cotton. Lockdown has made me feel free to make sartorial choices that bring joy as well as fill a need.
Hello Preston, you will LOVE the Chanel hand cream! As for white shirts; amazing how different each can be.
I tossed a bunch of boys’ button-downs and sundry white shirts that were waaaay past their wear-by date. I would look in my closet and see them so I never bought a new one. Yet, I never wore them. By throwing them out, I was freed to replace them. You can have 5 black skirts, but if you don’t wear them for whatever reason, then you really have none.
The Chanel hand cream really works. Even age spots are fading..
Can never have enough white shirts. … Kal Rieman also has nice tailored whites.
“You can have 5 black skirts, but if you don’t wear them for whatever reason, then you really have none.“ This comment is so true and kind of freeing. It’s inspiring a much needed closet clean out. It’s made my day. Thank you! Barbara
I just dyed an old white shirt a lovely coffee coloured brown and it’s got a whole new lease of life!
