Get Comfortable

The days are dramatically shorter and colder (don’t forget to turn your clocks back tonight)  — it’s time to get comfortable. The Harper’s Bazaar story got me thinking about my Wallabees and where they are. Sadly, they must have gone missing during the move, so new ones are winging their way here. I’ve been eyeing Leret Leret‘s cashmere sweaters and this one has my name on it. It will be perfect with Ann Mashburn’s flare cropped jeans, which look so incredible on Ann I had to have a pair.

  • So cool and chic. Agreed that phot you posted yesterday also got me thinking about Wallabees. I wore them many years ago during my high school days. Wanting a pair now!

  • I love a Clark’s Wallabee with a dress.

  • Hopefully those Wallabees will show up! I love mine! They remind me of my mom, her friends and my aunts who all wore them in the 70’s. Great Leret Leret – I have the paper airplane one and love it – high quality!

  • Great look!

  • Any advice or insight from Preston or any of you on how to wear booties with the cropped flare jeans. Should there be a smidge of skin showing between the top of the bootie and the bottom of the jean or does the jean just cover the top of the boot? I am short and pudgy and want to have the chicest line.

  • Definitely wore them in high school, love the soles. Those jeans will be mine, thanks for another Ann Mashburn tip.

  • Ann Mashburn is about the cutest woman ever! Her little how-to video on her cardigan sweater is so fun, and very clever! I need new jeans too – I didn’t think I could pull off flares, but you have convinced me, and now I know where to look.

  • Let’s be honest – everything looks incredible on Ann! But still curious about the jeans!!

  • Seeing the Wallabees took me down memory lane. They were a must in high school, but when looking at the Clark’s website I remembered I liked the Desert Boots better. They were more comfortable. The edge at the top of the Wallabees bothered my foot. I plan to purchase a black pair of the Dessert boots. Recently I’ve been leaning toward old stand by’s. I recently purchased a pair of Bass Weejuns to replace another loafer. My daughter, who’s 34, sent me a link to a Pendleton cardigan she wanted for Christmas. I had forgotten all about Pendleton. I think there is an old school revival.

  • I have entertained getting a pair of Wallabees since my college days ( yes, they were in the 70’s). I remember this beautiful art major who had the bohemian look down to perfection who wore them. But, for some reason I never invested in them. One question, does the light crepe sole get discolored and dirty looking? I love the light colored options, but if the sole gets dirty looking I would be unhappy.

  • How do you keep the jeans from discoloring light colored suede ?

    Thank you

  • My new Wallabees arrived last night – LOVE!!! Thanks.

  • Mine, too, and I forgot to go down a size. Next pair coming.

    PrestonNovember 7th, 2020  8:56 AM

  • Hello Preston, please share if you don’t mind, do you go down a full size or a half size? Thank you. would like to give these a try 🙂

    GraceNovember 9th, 2020  8:52 PM

  • Hi Grace, I go down a half size. My true size is perfect with heavy socks. I should also add that I wear them most often with skirts/dresses and leggings .

  • Do you like the Wallabee shoe or the boot?
