JW Anderson's Pre-Fall collection photos

Quirky & Creative

Actor Sophie Okonedo models a number of JW Anderson’s Pre-Fall looks and this one ticks all the boxes for me. I am so tired of strict minimalism and a limited wardrobe —  more creativity and a sense of the hand that made the item would be very welcome. The chunky knit hood and fabulous pumps will be mine. Juergen Teller photographed the playful collection images with vegetables as props and nonsensical, handwritten captions.

  • Those shoes! Thank you for highlighting, Preston.

  • Agreeing with Moira, the shoes, it seems that great ones are popping up everywhere and I do love that chunky knit hood too.

  • Totally agree …the minimalist wardrobe has become a real yawn fest. JWA designs for both loewe and his own label are resetting my buttons on what i really want to wear.

  • Oh, I couldn’t agree more. Love both the hood and shoes and they’ll be mine too 😉 I appreciate that you buy the things you post on — like Preston’s seal of approval.

  • I have always loved fairly minimal/understated silhouettes – ruffles, giant zippers, bell sleeves, anything exaggerated, I steer clear of. I prefer more tailored, which tends to be less embellished and less complicated, especially classic Italian (or French) tailoring with menswear sensibilities. An upside to more minimalist styling is they showcase accessories and jewelry and don’t compete.
