Styling Tweak

A Small Change Can Make A Big Difference

When I wear a bangle with my watch, the bangle is above and the watch is low around my wrist. But, that’s about to change. In two recent posts I noticed Princess Caroline and architect Barbara Ghidoni wearing the combo reversed, and it looks right. Otherwise, my watch just looks like a bracelet in a stack. I was chatting with a very helpful woman at Cartier about watch placement when I dropped off my Américaine for an overhaul yesterday. A small tweak can make a big difference.

  • My favourite look, it’s classic!

  • This is beautiful, but how do you prevent the bangle from sliding above the watch when you move? ( I’m a detail person). : )))

  • The bangle is smaller than the watch.

  • This is how I wear my watch and love bracelet too. Since the watch is a rectangular tank, they fit perfectly, and the watch keeps the bracelet from flopping around.

  • What Rolex watch is that?
    So pretty
    Be well,

  • It’s the Floral Motif dial in size 31mm. I think Rolex only made them from 2009 – 2019(?)

  • Since you got a Rolex in this picture, I have a vintage Rolex 26mm and feel like it doesn’t look substantial enough for everyday, or maybe I’m just so used to my 36mm BallonBleu. I would love to see a story about smaller/vintage watches. TIA

  • Interesting, last weekend I wore my watch as a bracelet. It needs a new battery but I figured that shouldn’t keep me from wearing it since that isn’t how I keep track of time.

  • Always wear my watches like this.

  • A sales associate at Cartier told me to never wear a bracelet on the same side as the crown of the watch because it could damage the mechanism.

  • @ Trish- This is a great point, and one I’ve experienced first hand! I wear my watch on my right (bracelet, watch, bracelet) and just recently noticed that after almost 15 years, the stone on the crown has worn down, maybe even cracked? Probably a sign to move the bracelet, if only I had more wrists…
