Memorial Day – a day to honor and remember those who gave their lives in service. It’s also the unofficial opening act of summer.
As the weatherman said last evening “this will be the coldest and rainiest Memorial Day weekend of our lifetimes,” so a lot of indoor activities are on the docket. Delayed a week, the French Open starts Sunday and if Rafael Nadal wins the tournament, he will break a tie with Roger Federer for most men’s Grand Slam titles — the duo is tied at 20. My girls really hit the cover off the ball this Mother’s Day with a gift of a Luke’s Lobster make-your-own lobster roll kit. You can buy Luke’s Lobster flash-frozen at Whole Foods — perfect Memorial Day indoor picnic fare. Sadly, on Sunday the final episode of Mare of Easttown airs. Kate Winslet’s performance is a tour de force. My dear friend sent me photographer David Bailey’s autobiography Look Again and this is the perfect time to start it — thank you, SK. It’s also the perfect time to pot some herbs for my kitchen. And, while doing all of these things, I’ll be in a cozy sweater like my beloved Prada V-neck above.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, xp
