Fall Find #1

A Cloth Coat

I never need a new coat, but if there’s one I can’t resist, I’ll go there. I have 25-year-old, beloved and timeless coats that get pulled out every fall. The Hermès cashmere parka in chestnut above left and the camel Louis Vuitton on Naomi Osaka are stunning forever pieces — much like the navy Saint Laurent in an earlier post.

  • I feel the EXACT same way! Every Fall/Winter I say…No. No more coats. Even in an NYC apt. with great closets, I’m on a strictly, brick in-brick out basis. But then I stumble across a “forever” coat…The Navy Saint Laurent is already on my wishlist

  • I love that Hermès coat but I am so tired of their policies. It’s like you cannot get any phone assistance and you know based on our last conversation I cannot travel to the store.

  • I love the ‘school-girl’ sensibilities of wool coats! Zippers, pockets, horn buttons, and staying warm!
Agree with Tracy re. Hermes ~ across the street at Dior, they couldn’t be nicer and have dropped the stifling rules.

  • I think either choice will be fabulous on you. They illustrate that for winter coats I think it’s fine to have multiple because they each have an entirely different sensibility. In a place where there’s cold weather the majority of the year it’s hard to resist just one more, although it’s one in/one out for me as well.
