It’s so cold and windy, very hard to be chic in this weather—especially the hat hair. I keep this small can of Klorane dry shampoo in my office to add a little lift when my hair gets weather flattened.
Klorane now makes a dry shampoo for brunettes, no more white powder residue—woo hoo.

For an updated evening look, I want loose, Gisele-like curls. Hot rollers seem to be the ticket and these could be good, but I’m open to suggestions.
So many people have raved about this Aerin Rose Lip Conditioner that I must try it. TBC.
A friend I trust when it comes to beauty products just recommended Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream, she said it’s amazing.
Need makeup for a big event? We did, and thankfully the folks at Vera Wang recommended Ashlee Glazer. Ashlee came to our hotel prior to both balls and worked her magic. Not only was the makeup perfection but, Ashlee was adorable and fun and full of great tips. Next up, I’m hiring her to help me with an easy, “no makeup'” look for everyday. Ashlee’s Go-To Products:
Madina Highlight: A product from Italy that’s a fashion week favorite. The perfect champagne gold/silver cream highlighting stick. A dab on the bridge of the nose, cheekbones, and cupids bow gives the perfect glow.
Clairins Beauty-Flash Balm: Lifts, tightens, and smoothes pores. Great way to look fresh, fast.
MAC Viva Glam V Lipstick: The best neutral for all skin tones. It’s that trustworthy color you can apply without looking in the mirror. And, 100% of the selling price goes to those affected with HIV/AIDS– I love to get clients hooked, and I give it as gifts.
YSL Touche Éclat: Brightens and highlights– makes everyone look fresh and well rested.
Best Makeup Tip: When applying blush and bronzer, I like do to a light dusting at the hairline, under the nose, and jawline. This sculpts and frames the face, bringing more attention to the eyes.
Most Common Mistake Women Make: Staying within their comfort zone– trying something new every now and then keeps it fresh!
Lipstick is not my thing but, there are times when I want a little color. My go-to is Clinique’s Almost Lipstick in Black Honey–it’s more like a tint and the color doesn’t scream ‘big red lips’. I hear that it works with many different skin tones, too.
It would be amazing if my Annick Goutal perfume came in a solid, then I could carry it in my bag. I’m going to test drive these by Diptyque, they are so practical. The scented oval would be great in a closet.
I was chatting with Caroline of Pardon My Obsession last evening and had to cut it short because I’m super stressed-out (sorry Caroline). A snowstorm the day before Thanksgiving is throwing me off my game. I’ve changed my daughter’s flight from L.A. (no easy feat this time of year), and we are all moving into the Waldorf for a night. Ironically, I’ve bought everything for Thanksgiving dinner, which proves I’m not completely losing it.
When all is said and done, I’m going to kick back and try a “rescue me” facial mask—recommendations welcome.
Beauty website Into The Gloss founder Emily Weiss has launched a line of products called Glossier. After all the beauty product testing Weiss has done in the four years of helming ITG, I’m sure her own line will be effective. The packaging is really good too.
So many chic women have listed L’Oréal True Match as their beauty secret, I had to try it. The biggest problem was finding the right shade in the terrible pharmacy lighting. But I did, and love it. And you can’t beat the drug store price.
