I’ve had hair, and more specifically hair products, on my mind recently. One of my favorite mini outings is a trip to the pharmacy – not a big-box drugstore, but my local, somewhat old fashioned, apothecary-like, pharmacy. It carries the basics, and stocks a ton of high-end and European brands as well. When I feel like splurging (but not spending a fortune) I hit the pharmacy for a quick fix.

I love the look of towel-dried hair, but it never seems to work on me. This Bumble and bumble creme could be the ticket. Vogue has a story on how to get perfect beach hair and lists some good products, too.
Net-a-porter sent me their Summer Kit, which is packed with beauty products. My hair gets so dry from swimming, I cannot wait to try the Swimcap cream.
A friend was talking about how much she likes the Charlotte Tilbury products. This reminded me that I’d read a rave review of Tilbury’s Wonderglow, a primer that I’ve wanted to test drive.
When it comes to cosmetics, I’m a less-is-more gal. The Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Pen has become my beauty BFF, it’s a concealer and highlighter—a true win-win.
I’m inspired by Daria’s lip color in this story “Liberté de Tons” (freedom of Speech) from the May issue of Vogue Paris. A trip to the Lancome counter may be in order.
I don’t like to color my hair as often as it probably needs it, so, I’m going to try Oribe’s Root Touch-Up Spray. It comes in four shades and also acts as a dry shampoo, now, that’s a win-win.
My friend Alexandra recommends Color Wow Root Cover Up, it has five shades—I’ll try both.
I’m inspired by the makeup in the Hermès story, it’s all about a bronzer. My old friend Bobbi Brown’s Bronzing Powder in Golden Light looks perfect—I will test drive it in L.A.
It’s so cold and windy, very hard to be chic in this weather—especially the hat hair. I keep this small can of Klorane dry shampoo in my office to add a little lift when my hair gets weather flattened.
Klorane now makes a dry shampoo for brunettes, no more white powder residue—woo hoo.
For an updated evening look, I want loose, Gisele-like curls. Hot rollers seem to be the ticket and these could be good, but I’m open to suggestions.
