If my memory serves me right, the Chanel PF16 show, above, jump-started the resurgence of black patterned tights (I could be wrong). And now, I want a pair to jazz up my LBDs. Balenciaga (bottom right and on sale), Fogal, Wolford, and Emilio Cavallini make some of the best and I linked two brands to Amazon so you can have them delivered by New Year’s Eve.

This picture of Vogue‘s Fashion Director Tonne Goodman is from a packing story that ran in the June 2007 issue, called “Fold Everything.” I was reminded of it as I’m starting to think beyond Christmas to a trip we are taking in early January. Like Tonne, I will do everything in my power to not check a bag. However, in 2018 I have far more electronics than the ones seen here, and that’s not including all the chargers. I, too, have used a Louis Vuitton rolling bag forever, but maybe this is an item that could be updated. My husband swears by Raden, the smart luggage with a TSA approved removable battery for a built in phone charger and weight sensor. And, since it’s sold on Amazon, I can get it before we go. As Vogue said “(t)his stylish smart luggage will completely change the way you travel.”

An image from the most recent WSJ. Magazine has me excited for bold bracelets and cuffs. I love the vintage-feel of this one by Aurelie Biedermann—mixed in a stack would be nice.
When the Net-A-Porter sale launched last month, I scored a few big ticket items that I’d been eyeing. But, now the markdowns are even steeper, up to 70% on many items, and I’m looking for fun vacation pieces like these straw totes and sandals. Again, the sale items are coinciding nicely with my needs.
Totes: Kayu, Nannacay, Antik Batik and Sophie Anderson. Sandals: Mabu By Maria BK, Loeffler Randall, Chloé, and Prada.
Thank you Net-A-Porter for asking for my sale picks!
On My Radar
A lot of jewelry looks the same to me these days, so I was pleasantly surprised when I spied these cool crystal pendants in the Victoria Beckham PF18 collection images.
This incredible image is from WSJ. Magazine’s Eternal Style issue that’s on newsstands today. The Tiffany & Co. bracelet and Céline dress are simply sublime.

Just when I was wondering if the new Saint Laurent would offer evergreen pieces, up popped these sandals . I couldn’t add them to my cart fast enough—perfection.
Black here and here. Side note: I bought and kept the black—will wear them more often and I already have quite a few pairs of brown sandals.
The seasons and sales have started to dovetail nicely. The temps have dropped in NYC and a Prada coat I’ve had my eye on just went on sale this morning—I’d call that synchronicity.

A few months ago I posted that I’d tweaked a pair of Manolo Blahnik black stretch-suede boots, shortening them to about this height (mine are a tad taller)—and, let me tell you, it was a great decision. I wear them all the time with skirts and pants (no gap between the bottom of the pant leg and top of the boot) and I get lots of compliments. No one noticed them when they were the stuffy to-the-knee height.
Grey, cream, black and red and here.
Narciso Rodriguez Pre-Fall 2018
Of all the beautiful Narciso Rodriguez collections, PF18 is hands down one of my favorites. Please look at all the images on Vogue.
